The last couple of wedding seasons have been unusual to say the least, so revisiting the wedding of Kerry and Tom is quite emotional. They got it absolutely right for them, bang in the middle of 2020 we had a window in the restrictions which meant their wedding could be adapted and celebrated. The effort and care displayed by everyone, the couple, guests, organisers and suppliers was incredible and a real lift to our hearts.
Kerry was an absolutely stunning bride, beautiful and with a sweetness and “down-to-earthness” which made her even more compelling to photograph, adding to her lovely smile, which she keeps tip-top white owing to her career as a successful dental hygienist.
For their big day they chose one of Marbella´s top venues, the famous Finca de la Concepción, a stylish building surrounded by a lush, palm treed gardens and a spectacular fountain. Florists and decorators added to this already wonderful setting some strong colourful flowers in fuchsias, shocking pinks and powder pinks, and some wonderful lamps and other decor bit to make it truly special.
The ceremony was conducted by the always hilarious Padre Peter, who gave the guests a much needed laugh in emotional times. It is hard to describe how overwhelming it all was for everyone there, to see the very much loved couple getting married after so much uncertainty.
After the ceremony, cold, fizzy drinks and tasty canapes were served in preparation for the typical Spanish paella dinner under the trees. It is always telling of how much a couple care about their family and friends having fun when a special effort is made for the little ones attending the day. Kerry and Tom made sure their nephews and friends were well entertained with a cute tepee set-up where they were able to hide away and have fun away from the gaze of parents (and there was ice-cream too!)
Finally, the cake and dance were set-up in front of the Finca ´s exquisite façade, illuminated by thousands of colour and fairy lights where everyone danced the night away.
A stunning bride and a lovely groom, a marvellous venue, fantastic organisers, the perfect weather, an amazing bunch of people, all at the right time. This wedding will stay close to my heart forever.
